From Greek Mythology: the Metamorphosis of Zeus into a Swan

The ability to metamorphose is a major theme in Greek mythology and most gods are imbued with this power. In the Greek myth of Leda and the Swan, the god Zeus metamorphosed into a swan in order to rape Leda, an Aetolian princess who became a Queen of Sparta. For the Italian Renaissance painters, Greek mythology was a rich source of inspiration and themes, and many copies and versions of Leda and the Swan still exist, including those by Leonardo Da Vinci and Michelangelo. This is my interpretation of the metamorphosis of Zeus into a swan based on the style of Renaissance painters.
